Seasters is another link in the chain of the history of the development of women's football. And although it may seem that this is a fairly young sport, the first images of women playing with a ball were on Chinese murals that are more than two thousand years old.

In modern history, women's football as a sport with its own rules originated in England. It was there in March 1895 that the first official women's football match was held: representatives of the north and south of the country played. The girls from the north confidently won with a score of 7:1. They say that this game was played according to all the rules, although the teams forgot to change goals at halftime - but we think that the goalkeepers just found their working side)

And here we would like to continue the story about the rapid development of women's football in the world, but in fact in 1921 the English Football Association banned women from playing on the football fields of professional clubs. As the ban stated, "football is not suitable for women at all and should not be encouraged."

It's hard to believe, but this ban existed for 50 years! And only in 1971, women's football acquired official status as an independent sport.

The Women's World Cup has been held since 1991. And in 1996, women's football was recognized as an Olympic sport.

In our country, the Championship among women's teams has been held since 1992. And from the 2021/22 season, every UPL club must have a women's team.

In the 2022/23 season, 12 teams played in the Higher League. But, unfortunately, none of them represented our city - Odessa.

We consider this a regrettable mistake and will make every effort to correct it
